Gratitude

Note: Writings about our spirit, soul, essence, true self, higher self, core and heart refer to that within us beyond our physical mind & body that we each know. The fact that we are open, reading, hearing and always learning is indication that we are already awake & aware to that innate true self within us. Our awareness is a journey of endless learning. Often these writings are on stuff we already know, 'hear all the time', or maybe something new or from a new perspective; regardless, be open & let them serve as reminders of our own innate knowing & wisdom. Quotes, texts and links sometimes used as references do not indicate any affiliation with particular group, person, concept, religion or belief system. It simply refers to the universal essence that is pure and undifferentiated beneath us all.

"Some people grumble that roses have thorns; I am grateful that thorns have roses". - Alphonse Karr

"Gratitude is not only the greatest virtue, but the parent of all others". - Marcus Tullius Cicero

"Walk as if you are kissing the earth with your feet". - Thich Nhat Hanh

"God gave you a gift of 86 400 seconds today. Have you used one to say thank you?" - William Arthur Ward

"If the only prayer you said was thank you, that would be enough". - Meister Eckhart Tolle

"The journey of discovery is not in finding new landscapes but in finding new eyes". -anon

Hi all,

I have often been asked by many friends when we catch up, "so what exciting adventures have you got lined up for your life lately?" In replying to that question, I wonder, "so what constitutes excitement?"  It is true, the last 4-5 years has been quite a physical adventure. Many travels far and wide, connections with new beautiful people far and near, exploring into adventure sports & activities, music, dancing, to name a few. All in line with my journey of healing and growing for my soul within. Sometimes we need to follow that journey of the heart to heal, learn and grow; as such Life takes us to various people, places and events. Then at other times, we may get to a point of quietness, stillness, consolidation and what may appear as 'nothing much out of the ordinary', which is okay too. Almost like soil preparing itself for the next round of growth. There is a Zen saying, "When nothing is special, then everything is".

Everything is special because when everything changes on the inside, our external world changes and every single moment becomes an adventure and beauty of its own. Everything grand and minute is seen, perceived, experienced and appreciated to its full purity through all our senses. So now adventure doesn't have to be trekking mountains, abseiling, rock climbing, running long distances, tribal drumming, tribal dancing, falling in love, sky diving, walking through deserts, swimming large oceans, seeking holy lands, ashrams and gurus, etc. Although those adventures and more are still fun and invigorating, there is just as much fun, joy and vigour in simply being right here fully in the moment. When our spirit is full and restored it is simply watching the bees pollinating flowers, the birds feeding, the beauty of the different sunrises every day, tending the vegetable patch, weeding the garden, walking the dog, cooking a wholesome meal, savouring the taste of a wholesome home cooked meal, soaking in the spring sunshine, basking in a healthy living body, giving and receiving love, hugs, smiles and laughter. Even storms, turbulence, challenges and undesirable people and events which may entail pain, sorrows, discomfort, anxiety or grief are honoured and embraced as they are 'the other side of the coin'. This too is part of our privilege as a living human being that is able to experience, feel, cry, learn, grow and heal. Only when we awake and are restored to that true spirit within us that perfection and enlightenment is truly just in this very present moment, just as it is. Light follows darkness, day follows night, cold and hot, seasons change, Life flows. So too we flow with it when we live true to our higher self, our spirit and soul.

When we flow with Life, and flow as Life, we can't help but simply be filled with Gratitude. Gratitude is natural when we live from our hearts and not from our limited thinking brain. Some of us live stuck in our own cycles of pain, suffering, lack, dissatisfaction, misery and fear when we choose to live from the limited preconditioned brain full of issues, disempowering thought patterns and outlook. We are stuck in vicious cycles of being victimised by what we perceive is what Life and others 'inflict' upon us. We place the source and reason for our happiness on other people, events, beliefs, ideas and places. Then when other people, events, circumstances and places do not live up to our expectations, turn out otherwise or changes over time, we fall to pieces, complain, whinge, get angry and even start to wage a major battle to try and hurt the other perceived enemy. When we know our true self, and are awake and restored to our spirit, we are already full and whole within, we do not need any other to fulfill any lack and do not depend on anything external for happiness, joy and fulfillment. A loving partner, good friends and family are simply a blessing and a sharing. Goals, dreams and ambitions simply give us directions and roles. Positive and beautiful events are enjoyed and appreciated as much as lows, downs, pains and tribulations are honoured with peace, for we trust  a higher purpose. It is often through our greatest trials & tribulations that our spirit embarks on its greatest growth. At all times we can't help but be grateful, for we are only a small part of a bigger whole. Yet the wholeness manifests through us.

How often do we forget, caught up in our raw, physical, day to day rat race in this physical materialistic existence, to stay true and in touch with our spirit? That we miss out so much in the perfection and beauty of every single moment, every single living being from the smallest worm to the giant whale, the visual beauty and colours of nature, the smell and taste of the air, the warmth of love and touch, and the energy of good health, good food and good fun. Let us slow down, smell the roses, experience fully through all our senses, just being and not always doing, for in the quietness and stillness of the present moment is us in true spirit, with full gratitude.

Love our internal body

Hi all

Excuse the couple of weeks break from blogging, have been caught up with a few exciting events in life. The edited manuscript of my upcoming book 'Awaken' needed to be compiled before being able to be handed over to the publishing stages, so that took every bit of spare time in between working, housekeeping, food shopping, cooking, loving & supporting the children, walking the dog, self care and rest.
Then about a week ago, was privileged to take myself through the amazing experience of a  self liver cleanse technique that was recommended by a good friend, thank you Rosemary :-) Long time aryuvedic medicine practitioner and healer Andreas Moritz who has written quite a few books 'Cancer is not a Disease', the 'The Liver & Gallbladder Miracle Cleanse' and the comprehensive 'Timeless Secrets of Health & Rejuvenation' has solid scientific knowledge but conveys knowledge of the human body & health through an enlightened mind and perspective. Being in line & on the same wavelength with his understanding and wisdom through my own intuitive feel, I undertook his home liver cleanse technique which saw the removal of gallstones and liver stones (intrahepatic stones) from my wonderful insides which helped towards the self healing of my liver (which has been subjected to much use and abuse in the past) and my digestive system (which had borne much emotional stresses in the past). Only a week on, and along with many little changes to dietary lifestyles, my digestive system is already 100% improved and energy levels restored 100%. My hayfever has improved 50% and peripheral neuralgia in left arm 50%. The second cleanse might progress the healing even further. What's more, find I don't need that 1 cup of coffee/day anymore, coffee can now be enjoyed and savoured as the occasional treat :-) Seem to eat less and have more energy, makes sense, a balanced digestive system entails efficient uptake of nutrients and processing into energy.
Our body is an ingenious intelligent machine. Apart from the brain, the liver is the next most important organ in our body. Apart from digestion, it filters and detoxifies, hence affects every other organ and system through the blood and lymph i.e. our immune system, our brain, heart, lungs, stomach, bowels, reproductive organs, skin. The liver works hard when we work hard, mentally, emotionall, physically. It is at the forefront of cleansing everything that we ingest into us, and every bit we suppress and generate within our bodies. Fear and anger results in toxic biochemical reactions and compositions and energy blockages to the liver. As a living spirit with the privilege and gift to live, enjoy, experience, learn, grow and create in a human lifetime, we owe it to our true essence to maintain and take good care of this precious vessel. Listening to and working with our body, this vessel, with love and respect, is a rewarding journey, as it is a living thing with an intelligent capacity and life span.

The importance of drinking lots of water, I stress this to every client all the time, must sound like a 'broken record', some do 'switch off' and choose not to hear it. 6-8 glasses of pure water, on top of, but not just tea, herbal tea, cordial, soft drinks, juice, milk, coffee; is crucial for health of our body and mind. We are 70% water; all organs, systems and processes in the body require water or some element from the water compound to function at optimum. Put a slice of lemon into your glass of water, garnish it with an umbrella or cherry if water simply does not appeal to you. In time you will love it when you can feel the effects and benefits of sufficient water. Working on musculature everyday, and as all physical therapists will tell you because we feel them with our hands, muscles dehydrate with insufficient water. They are congested, 'blocked', the fascia that surrounds bundle of muscles stick, and individual fibres of muscles stick to each other. How can blood, lymph and nerve impulses flow? Blood transports oxygen and nutrients to cells and wastes away, lymph is our immune system, and nerve impulses innervates muscles. Muscles include not just our outer body movement muscles, but muscles of our internal organs such as heart, lungs, liver, bowels, brain etc. Please watch attached link documentary on 'Water- The Great Mystery'. A somewhat long doco but well worth it, better than a Hollywood movie. Grab yourself a couple of pieces of fruits, a glass of water or two, sit back, relax and watch the film, you'll be greatly amazed and enlightened.

We beautify our outer selves; shower everyday, wear beautiful clothes, spray attractive scents over ourselves, put some make-up on (women), shave, get a haircut, some colour, perm, straighten, go for facials, manicure, pedicure, groom ourselves to look, smell and feel good on the outside. Do we do the same for our insides? Do we care, nourish, sustain, heal and love our internal organs; and conduct daily emotional and mental housekeeping to ensure we harbour love, compassion, kindness, tolerance, forgiveness, understanding and positivity towards others and ourselves? Let's love our internal body, as much as we love our external appearance.

Love & Light,
Patsie

Health

Note: Writings about our spirit, soul, essence, our true Self, higher Self, heart, core refers to that within us beyond our physical mind & body that we each know; the fact that we are open & reading, willing to hear & learn is already a sign that we are awake & aware to that innate true Self within us. Our awareness is a journey of endless learning. Often writings posted on this blog are just simple, condensed commentaries on stuff that we already know, 'hear all the time', or may be something new, or from a new perspective; regardless, be open and let them serve as reminders of our own innate knowing and wisdom, and if we think we know better and more, please be open & share. We are all always learning.

HEALTH

Health is big issue and big industry. As a human being we all want 'good' health for vitality and well being.Good health enables us the ability and energy to enjoy life to the full and not suffer discomfort, pain or restrictions. Optimum health we all know entails a balance of healthy diet, regular exercise and positive mind frame. All sound fine and great, and we know it all in theory, but in practice may be quite a challenge when we have acquired some not so desirable habits through our life journeys, and be subjected to an all not-so-perfect physical environment. Nevertheless, the basis of health, like in all areas of our physical life, is CHOICE. We are the ones with the choice, to want to see, learn, change and take the necessary steps.

As a living human being we consists of many levels, the main ones being physical, mental, emotional, spiritual (in ascending order). Hence, optimum health involves the integration on all levels of our living being. Attending to only one particular area without the others will pose limitations on the manifestation of good health. For example, if we only focus on exercising obsessively 7 days/week without attending to our emotional needs of giving and receiving love, or mental balance of cultivating empowering thoughts, and not awake or aware to our real Self that is beyond mind and body; we are only focusing on the physical, with imbalances in the emotional, mental and spiritual levels. We might end up with rippling muscles, a triple sized lung, and heart that pumps rigorously; but we will still be unhealthy because old emotions that were suppressed  and unhealed still festers as buildup of biochemical and cellular toxins as new emotions continue to fill; negative and self defeating thought patterns that were ingrained neural patterns continue to fire, reinforce and autopilot our present thinking, outlook and reactions; hence again triggering more emotions and physiological effects in the body.
Thoughts and emotions are interrelated and  imbalances in either or both can continue to fuel each other into a vicious cycle of spiral towards total breakdown or self destruction. Without being awake and aware of our true Self through our own personal reality (spiritual level), this perspective may not even be at all obvious, we will continue to work and struggle through each minute area in each level of our being, to try and correct and improve with the best of our limited physical capability. To come to the reality of who we really are beyond this mind and body is a shift within us that is almost like a 'short cut'. Working from above, it flows through to all levels ie emotional, mental, physical; making the perspective clearer, our innate knowing ever present, through the journey of healing and maintaining balance.Good health then naturally filters into all areas of our lives, not just our physical bodies, but also our relationships, careers, dreams and goals. Effortlessly we seem to find ourselves living to the full each present moment in sync and in flow, with unconditional peace, love and happiness.Sounds idealistic? Not at all.

Patsie
